Year 9 Parents’ Evening – Wednesday 18th January 2017 4.00 – 8.00pm
I am writing to inform you that we have our Year 9 Parents’ Evening on Wednesday 18th January 2017. This will be the first opportunity for you to discuss your son/daughter’s progress with all of their subject teachers. At such an important point in your child’s school career I would very much urge you to attend.
We are going to continue to use our online booking system for making appointments with teachers. It will be possible to book appointments directly through your Parentmail account from Monday 9th January. However, in order to do this you will need to register with Parentmail. If you have not already done so then a link; https://pmx.parentmail.co.uk/#core/login will be sent via ParentMail. This link can also be accessed via the school website. You will be able to book 5 minute appointments with subject teachers, but please do remember to leave time between sessions for movement to different rooms.
Should there be any problems with this you can call or email one of our administrators directly to book appointments, or students themselves can make bookings centrally with staff. Please see the contact details below:
Julie Giles firstname.lastname@example.org
Kali Sheimar email@example.com
Representatives from the Learning and Language Support departments will be available to discuss your son/daughter’s individual needs, please do book these centrally if required. Additionally, there will be a Parent Information ‘drop-in’ clinic run by members of the Senior Leadership Team that will allow for more in-depth discussion about GCSE reforms, our assessment system, individual student progress and any other questions that you may wish to raise.
All teaching staff will be situated in Akabusi Block (reception area). Maps and refreshments will be available on the evening. I look forward to meeting you on this important occasion. However, if you are unable to attend, but wish to discuss matters regarding your child’s progress, please contact their tutor or me at school.
Mr E Evans
Head of Year 9
