Year 11 Careers Letter

September 2024

Dear Parents / Carers

Careers Consultations

Over the course of the next term your child will be participating in their Year 11 careers consultation. This consultation presents an invaluable opportunity for them to explore their post-16 education choices, which is a critical stage in their academic journey. It is important to note that, by law, all learners must remain in full-time education or full-time training in employment until the age of 18.

At Biddenham School, we pride ourselves on our commitment to ensuring that each Year 11 student receives tailored support to facilitate informed decision-making regarding their future pathways. To make the most of the careers advice and guidance available during this pivotal time, I encourage you to engage in discussions with your child about their aspirations and goals ahead of their appointment. We have provided a worksheet (attached/enclosed) that each student should consider and it is recommended that they utilise their Unifrog platform. This tool will equip them to enter the careers meeting well-prepared and empowered to take ownership of their future.

Additionally, you have the opportunity to create your own Unifrog account. By doing so, you will gain access to a wealth of resources, including career research, webinars presented by employers and universities, and tools to compare different pathways. This will enable you to support your child in making well-informed decisions regarding their next steps. To register, please use the sign-up code:  BDNMparents and visit the following link www.unifrog.org/code. Upon your initial login, you will also have the option to subscribe to Unifrog’s parent/carer newsletter, which offers expert advice on assisting your child with their future decisions.

Should you require any further information or guidance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully
