A-Level Geography Residential Fieldwork Trip, Swanage, Dorset

As part of the A level AQA Geography course, students are required to complete four compulsory days of fieldwork. In order to fulfil this requirement, we are taking students on a three day trip to Swanage, Dorset on Wednesday 9th October – Friday 11th October.

During the course of the visit, students will participate in small-scale geographical investigation of the physical and human geography of a place. The visit will also provide them with an opportunity to identify an aspect of geography they would like to explore further, helping them prepare for their individual investigation. Below is an itinerary:

Wednesday 9th October

08.00am – Depart Biddenham School

12.00pm – Arrive at Lulworth Cove and Durdledoor

17.00pm – Arrive at YHA Lulworth Cove for an evening meal

Thursday 10th October

The day will be spent at Swanage Bay and Studland studying coastal management and sand dune succession.

Friday 11th October

The morning will be spent at Boscombe.

12.00pm – Depart Boscombe

16.00pm – Arrive back at Biddenham (traffic permitting)

The cost of the trip is £120.00. This includes full board accommodation including breakfast, lunch and dinner, transport and insurance costs. Payments can be made in two instalments of £60.00. The first instalment will be required upon booking and the second instalment by Monday 30th September.
