Description
Biddenham is an 11-19, oversubscribed school that, as we expand, is entering the next phase of its development. Due to our popularity, and as part of our £4.5 million building programme, we need to grow and strengthen our already high performing staff team who, by 2025, will be working with 1600 students.

To that end, we are looking to appoint an inspiring and committed teacher to lead a year group as a Head of Year. If you were to be successful, you will be joining a school that is at the heart of the community it serves and has been making a transformative difference to the current and future lives of its students.

You will join a dedicated team of teachers and staff at an exciting time of growth and expansion for the school. We are committed to providing access to technology for all by providing chromebooks to all of our students and staff and developing innovative blended learning approaches to teaching, which has proved invaluable throughout the Pandemic in support of our young people.

The Head of Year role is key in developing a culture where students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, strength of character and qualifications to succeed in a global society. The successful candidate will be part of a friendly, well qualified and committed pastoral team with a strong supportive ethos. The ability to work professionally with the team and outside agencies is paramount to this role, alongside the expectations to take on a wider safeguarding responsibility and bring the same standards, commitment and energy to the role as to their subject teaching. Our students’ academic achievement is key to their future options in life and as such ensuring their academic success will be central to the role.

The successful candidate will be a great teacher and someone who has strong interpersonal skills and a passion for making a difference to young peoples’ lives.
