NJC Level 3D (point range 7-11)
Actual gross salary £19,648 to £21,129 per annum

Description:
Biddenham is an 11-19, oversubscribed school that, as we expand, is entering the next phase of its development. Due to our popularity, and as part of our £4.5 million building programme, we are growing and strengthening our already high performing staff team who, by 2025, will be working with 1600 students.

We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and diligent Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support the learning of individuals and groups of students with special educational needs, both within the classroom and in the Learning Support room, to enable them to have access to the whole school curriculum as their individual needs allow.

Alongside the responsibilities of a traditional Level 2 Teaching Assistant, this is a varied role with the opportunity to take the lead on developing additional resources or looking for external agency support to deliver PSHE specific for SEND students’ needs. The post holder will also lead PSHE classes for small groups of students with SEND.

Successful candidates will need to:

+ Possess a good standard of secondary education with 5 GCSEs including English and Maths;
+ Show evidence of work experience relevant to the main responsibilities of the post and that of a teaching assistant for students with SEND.
+ Have an understanding of the range of special educational needs in a mainstream school;
+ Be a good communicator;
+ Have good organisation skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
