Due to our popularity, and as part of our £4.5 million building programme, we are growing and strengthening our already high performing staff team who, by 2025, will be working with 1600 students.
Commencing September 2023, we seek to appoint a well-qualified, creative and inspirational Teacher of English to start January 2023, with a view to becoming a permanent member of our outstanding team.
The post holder requires strong knowledge of English Literature and Language, with experience of teaching at least two key stages. English is taught as a compulsory subject up to Year 11. We study the AQA GCSE English Literature and Language and AQA A-level English Literature. The department also leads on the Level 3 Extended Project Qualification, alongside Level 2 retake English Language and Literature and Functional Skills English for Post-16 students. There are many opportunities to teach a wide range of age groups.
The English Department is well resourced and is committed to extending and improving its range of opportunities for students. Key Stage 4 is taught as a combination of English Language and Literature, through set GCSE texts.
The successful candidate will be an excellent and approachable classroom practitioner, able to adapt learning in order to secure the best outcomes for all learners. Above all else, the successful candidate should be enthusiastic about their work with young people and have a genuine concern for their development as individuals.
