Visit to Hare Krishna Temple – Friday 14th October 2022
I am writing to invite your child to join us on a visit to the Hare Krishna temple, Aldenham, on Friday 14th October 2022. Year 8 are currently studying Hinduism therefore the aim of the visit is to learn more about Hindu worship in practice.
We will be leaving the school at 8.30 am and travelling by coach and will return by 3.30 pm (traffic permitting). The cost for this visit is £20.00 per child. This covers transport, presentations, tours, cart rides, workshops, face painting, visiting the shrine and lunch. A typical traditional meal consists of:
– Pea and cheese curry (a mildly-spiced vegetable preparation)
– Fluffy Basmati rice
– Chips
– A light, Indian savoury
– Puris or chapattis (traditional bread)
– A dessert (usually home-made biscuits).
– A fruit drink
There is a gift shop at the temple so students may also wish to bring money to purchase souvenirs. Students will be required to wear school uniform as per a normal school day.
Please note – Tickets are issued on a first come first service basis. To guarantee a place on the visit please make the payment and complete the online consent form as soon as you can on your ParentPay account. Tickets will go live at 8am Friday 16th September 2022.
