Dear Parent/Carer
As part of the school’s ongoing commitment to literacy, we have the opportunity to take part in a trial of a new digital literacy improvement platform called Bedrock Learning.
This programme teaches students the language skills they need to succeed at school and beyond – with specific focuses on vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing.
The trial lasts for four weeks, after which we will ask your child to complete a short survey of their experiences of the programme. This will give us feedback as to whether it will form part of our literacy programme for the forthcoming year. We are conducting this trial with a selection of year 9 students.
The ideal is for students to complete the programme for 20 minutes, twice a week. They can use a phone, computer or chromebook to get onto the programme.
We will be encouraging them in school as well, but we would appreciate your support in helping them to use this and to feedback their thoughts.
