Young Musicians’ Insight Afternoon Bedford Girls School
Dear Parent/Carer
We would like to invite your child to develop their GCSE listening and composing skills with an educational visit to Bedford Girls School on Thursday 16th November.
This event offers an opportunity for students studying GCSE music to hear professional orchestral musicians perform live, talk about their instruments and share information about a range of careers in music. There will be breakout sessions where the Philharmonia musicians will focus on demonstrating the potential of their instrument and offer tips on idiomatic writing and compositional techniques for students to apply to their GCSE coursework.
Students will travel to Bedford Girls School by school minibus, departing at 1.00pm after having lunch at school at 12.00pm. Students can be collected from Bedford Girls School at 3pm or can make their own way home.
This educational visit is free for all students to take part in, however parental consent must be provided via ParentPay.
