Component 1 Letter Y10 Coursework ICT

Dear Parent/Carer,

Your child is currently studying BTEC Tech Award in Digital Information Technology as one of their Key Stage 4 subjects in Year 10. This subject consists of two coursework units and one examination unit.

Your child has been taught the content for Component 1 which is based on Powerpoint and will have a formal assessment worth 30% of their overall grade in March. Please note prior to each Assessment the students will have a chance to fully prepare and act on feedback given. In preparation at home, students need to ensure their class notes are up to date by using the slides on the Google Classroom as these can be used during the formal assessment. They also need to practice any Powerpoint skills they are unsure of by using the resources on the Google Classroom if they have access to Powerpoint at home.

Component 1, Exploring User Interface Design Principles and Project Planning Techniques.

Monday 18th March – 8.00AM (please arrive for 7.50) – 2.35PM 

Breaks will be given as per the normal school day timings. Following the assessments, teaching staff will submit the work to the exam board for moderation. Please note, should your child be entitled to any special arrangements, these will be in place for these assessments.

If your child studies Business Studies as well, they will have assessments in both subjects, however we have worked hard to ensure the dates of assessments do not clash.

If you have any pre-scheduled appointments I would kindly request that these are re-arranged as this is a formal assessment.
