Y12 L3 Summer Exams

22nd April 2024

Dear Parents/Carers,

Subject: Important Update: Summer Exam Results and Year 13 Progression

I hope this letter finds you well. As we progress towards the end of the academic year, I wanted to inform you of an important matter concerning your child’s academic progress.

By highlighting this now we hope that you will support your child in their preparation for the summer exams being held in the week beginning 3rd June 2024. The grades from these exams will form the basis of any University or apprenticeship application they wish to make next academic year. We realise that some students may not achieve their target grades in the upcoming summer assessments. In light of this, we are implementing a proactive approach to support their academic development during the summer break.

Any student who falls below their subject target grade will be provided with specific summer work to help them strengthen their understanding of the subject matter. This additional support aims to ensure that they are adequately prepared to progress into Year 13 with confidence. Furthermore, we are organising re-sit exams during the induction day on the 4th September 2024. These exams will serve as an opportunity for students to demonstrate their progress and potentially improve their grades, which will inform how they transition into Year 13.

We understand the importance of providing individualised support to each student, and we are committed to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive academically. Your support and cooperation in encouraging your child to engage with the targeted summer work and participate in the re-sit exams are greatly appreciated.

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to support both you and your child every step of the way. Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education.

Kind regards,

Mr A. Brown
