Maths Enrichment Day – University of Bedfordshire

Your child has been invited to attend a Maths enrichment day on Monday 1st July 2024 at the University of Bedfordshire.

Students will take part in stimulating mathematical talks and activities, designed to help students see the usefulness and fun of maths beyond the curriculum. The day is aimed at year 10 students who may go on to study core maths, A-level maths or further maths at post 16, especially those that may need encouragement to do so.

The day is run by AMSP (Advanced Mathematics Support Programme) and your child has been chosen to attend as they are a high achiever in maths. As a department we recommend they study maths post-16, therefore this enrichment day will help them with making this decision. Shown below is an itinerary of the day:

09:30 – 10:00 – Arrival and registration

10:00 – 10:30 – Introduction

10:30 – 11:15 – Workshop Session 1

11:15 – 11:30 – Break

11:30 – 12:15 – Workshop Session 2

12:15 – 13:00 – Lunch break – students to bring packed lunch

13:00 – 13:45 – Workshop Session 3

13:45 – 14:00 – Break

14:00 – 14:45 – Closing Talk

14:45 – 15:00 – Feedback and departure

There is no charge for this trip and transport will be provided for the students to and from the University of Bedfordshire’s Polhill Avenue campus, MK41 9EA.
