Exploration of Sikhism in Religious Studies

May 2024

Dear Parent/Carer

Exploration of Sikhism in Religious Studies

I hope this letter finds you well. We wanted to inform you about an exciting upcoming activity in your child’s Religious Studies (RS) class.

As part of our exploration of Sikhism, students will be learning about the significance of Karah Prashad, a sacred dish served at the conclusion of services in Gurdwaras. To deepen their understanding of Sikh traditions and culture, your child will have the opportunity to participate in making Karah Prashad during one of their RS lessons after the half term break.

We understand the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, especially when it comes to food-related activities. If your child has any allergies or dietary restrictions, please inform us as soon as possible so that we can accommodate their needs accordingly.

The recipe has been linked for you here

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this activity, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to providing your child with a meaningful and enriching learning experience.

Thank you for your continued support.

Warm regards,

Irem Hussain

Assistant Head of Religious Studies
