Dear Parents/Carers

With only six weeks before the end of the school year, it’s time to start thinking about next year and universityapplications. To that end, we are writing to inform you about a number of important events which have been arranged for students and yourselves.

Tuesday 20th June – Bedfordshire Higher Education and Apprenticeships Convention

We have managed to secure places in the morning session at the Bedfordshire Higher Education Convention,which is being held on the Polhill Campus at the University of Bedfordshire for all our Year 12 Level 3 students. Students are expected to make their own way to the university, for 9.15am, where they will be registered by Biddenham School Staff. They will also be expected to make their own way home. Should any students anticipate transport difficulties with the journey to the university, they should see Mr Brown as soon as possible.

Thursday 22nd June – Futures Information Evening, 6.30 pm, Main Hall

We have organised a Futures Information Evening for students, parents and carers, at which you will be given information on Student Finance, UCAS, apprenticeship opportunities and life away from home. Our guest speaker will be Hannah Wake from the University of Leicester. We will also have former students who will talk to you about the different career paths they have followed. In the past, parents and carers have found this evening informative and we very much hope to see you there. Presentations will begin promptly at 6:30pm, with refreshments being served afterwards.

Finally, we’d like to ask a favour from you all, which is; if, through your line of work, you think you would be able to offer any of our Sixth Form students a work experience opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
