New Designers Exhibition Friday 7th July 2023
We have the opportunity within the Design Technology Department to take the Year 10 students on a trip to the New Designers Exhibition in Islington. This exhibition is a showcase for newly graduated degree students across a wide range of disciplines; their work is showcased both to the public, but also to industry leaders who view and judge their work. It is nationally recognised as a focal point for an emerging generation of designers and is an inspirational opportunity for our students to see where their DT course could take them.
Having been to this on multiple occasions with other schools, I can attest to the positive effect that it has on GCSE students, especially year 10 students who are just entering into their coursework.
Please see the below information from New Designers regarding this week:
New Designers is an annual exhibition that brings together the best graduate design talent from across the UK. Our event is aimed at professionals in the design industry, as well as general consumers who are interested in seeing the latest trends in design. New Designers also welcomes hundreds of school students each year, inspiring the next generation of designers. Over two weeks, we showcase the work of over 3,000 talented graduates in a range of disciplines, including textiles, graphics, product design, and more.
The details for the trip are as follows:
