Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park trip, London – Monday 12th June 2023

25th May 2023

Dear Parent/Carer

We will shortly be going on our Project Based Learning trip to Queen Elizabeth Park on Monday 12th June. This letter has the final details to ensure a successful and enjoyable trip for the students. Please read carefully and ask your child to speak to their PBL teacher if they have any further questions.

Clothing

The students will be required to wear school PE kit on the day so they have appropriate clothing for the activities but are clearly still identifiable for the purposes of safety. We would strongly recommend that students also bring a hat and raincoat for inclement weather. We ask that students take an adequate number of water bottles and sun cream, in the hope that the sun shines for us. Apart from some time at the Velodrome, we will be outside for the entire day.

Food and drink

There will not be opportunities for students to buy drinks or food, so all students should bring everything they are going to consume with them. No nut products in case of allergies. Those who have lunches provided by the school will have the opportunity to get their packed lunch prior to leaving for the trip.

Timings & Medicines

We will be meeting in the Quad at 8am (students do not need to register with their tutors) to be registered by the staff attending the trip. We politely request that any travel sickness tablets are taken for an 8.30am departure and return journey tablets are also packed.  Any medication should be clearly labelled, if you are happy for them to self-administer they will keep hold of it, otherwise it should be handed in to their group leader whilst being registered.  We anticipate arriving back to school between 4.30 – 5.00pm. If you are collecting your child from school, please arrive by 4.30pm, our return time will be dependent on the traffic on the day.

Contacting on the day

If you have an emergency during the day, then please contact the school who can then contact the trip leader.

Electronic devices

Students are allowed to bring an electronic device, at their own risk, as they are not covered by our schools insurance. We would recommend an electronic free day.

Please see the next page for the itinerary. Student groups will be assigned on the day of the trip. Please let us know if you have any concerns over groupings.

If you have any questions please do contact mary-ann.browne@mybiddenham.com
