Year 7 Band Lab for Education letter

Dear Parents/Carers

We are extremely excited to share with you that we would like to make your child’s Music and Project Based Learning learning experience more interactive by using a new google application called Band Lab for education.

We are aiming to roll this out over the next few weeks to year 7 students.  Year 8 & 9 are currently using it in Music lessons and it has been a real success. The applications are both compatible with our google suite meaning that your child is able to have a seamless learning experience between home and school. 

The benefits of your child having access to these apps is that: 

• Fulfilling the National Curriculum for Music’s requirement of composing music
• Fulfilling the National Curriculum for Music’s requirement of using music technology
• Fulfilling the Project Based Learning requirement of using technology
• Fulfilling the Project Based Learning project in year 7 and Oracy project in year 8 of creating a podcast/interview.

We recommend that you try the app in advance by downloading it from Google or Apple Store. Please take some time to review the band lab data policy with regards to information sharing for educational purposes. 

If you are not happy for your child to have access to this application through their school account please contact georgina.murphy@biddenham.beds.sch.uk and we will ensure your child has additional resources to use within school and at home. Not using this facility the features may not be as interactive.
