Curriculum and Subject Choices

Here at Biddenham we are very excited to be able to offer such a wide range of courses.

We ask that students select at least three Level 3 courses, (some students may wish to start with four), these will be taken alongside either Core Maths or Extended Project Qualification.

Students will need to meet the entry requirements to join our sixth form, these are listed below:

Level 3 Course

The aim of the Level 3 Course is for students to develop their academic knowledge to fully prepare themselves for further study, post 18, apprenticeships or the world of work.

This course is for students who have either:

Achieved a grade 4 English Language and Maths qualifications and a minimum of three other Level 2 qualifications at grade 4 or above.

OR

Who have achieved a grade 4 English Language and a minimum of six other Level 2 qualifications at grade 4 or above.

Students will need to pay close attention to the subject specific entry requirements as these will vary from subject to subject. Details can be found here.

Level 2 Course
(all course subjects are subject to availability)

As an inclusive sixth form we aim to provide further educational opportunities for a wide variety of students. We believe that students deserve the chance to develop their academic qualifications to allow them a greater chance of progression after sitting Level 2 qualifications. These options may include moving on to a Level 3 course or to progress into apprenticeship opportunities. Our Level 2 course is the ideal environment for students to achieve these goals by giving them a structured learning experience and ongoing support, advice and guidance in relation to their career possibilities.

Entry onto this course requires a minimum of grade 3 in English or Maths along with a minimum of four other Level 2 qualifications at grade 2 or above.

All students are required to study GCSE Mathematics and GCSE English if they do not have a grade 4 or above at Level 2.
